About Nurtured Growth Therapy

Paediatric Occupational Therapy in Ipswich and Surrounds

At Nurtured Growth Therapy, I offer mobile paediatric occupational therapy for children aged 0–8 years across Ipswich, Springfield, Redbank Plains, and nearby suburbs. I come to your home, childcare, kindergarten, or school, supporting children in familiar environments where they learn and grow best.

Supporting Children’s Development Through Occupational Therapy

I work with families to support children with:

  • Sensory processing difficulties

  • Emotional regulation challenges

  • Fine and gross motor skill delays

  • Daily living skills (dressing, toileting, feeding)

  • School readiness and early learning

Each therapy plan is personalised and goals-focused, using a holistic, child-centred approach. I collaborate closely with parents, educators, and other professionals to build strong support systems around every child.

Taryn van der Westhuizen

Occupational Therapist

I'm a passionate paediatric occupational therapist with over 10 years of experience helping children aged 0–10 thrive. I specialise in early intervention, sensory processing, and neurodiversity-affirming care—working closely with families to build strong foundations for everyday life.

Originally from South Africa, I’ve worked in schools, NICUs, and paediatric clinics, and hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Occupational Therapy. Now based in Australia, I’m the founder of Nurtured Growth Therapy, offering mobile OT services across Ipswich, Springfield, and surrounding areas.

I support children with:

  • Autism, ADHD, and developmental delays

  • Sensory and emotional regulation challenges

  • Motor skill development and daily living skill

My approach is family-led, gentle, and evidence-based, grounded in connection and care. Every child deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported—and I’m here to help them grow into their most confident, capable selves.

Outside of therapy, I love exploring the outdoors, road-tripping around Australia, and soaking up time with family and friends.
