  • What is the process for starting therapy?
The process begins with an initial consultation, where I gather background information, discuss your child’s challenges, and establish family-centered goals. Following this, I schedule an assessment to observe your child in different environments and build rapport. This helps me create a tailored therapy plan to best support your child’s needs.
  • What can I expect during a typical therapy session?
After setting therapy goals, I break them down into specific skills to target, such as fine motor, sensory processing, executive functioning, play, and emotional regulation. A typical therapy session lasts 45-50 minutes and includes play-based activities designed to develop these skills. Using a strengths-based approach, I address the root causes of your child's challenges while empowering them to succeed in all areas of their life.
  • How long will therapy take?
The duration of therapy varies depending on your child’s individual needs and goals. Each child’s therapy journey is unique, and we will regularly review progress together to ensure therapy aligns with your child’s development, time availability, and budget. Your active involvement is a key part of this process and will help ensure long-term success.
  • What are the costs of therapy sessions?
Each occupational therapy session costs $232.79, aligning with the prescribed NDIS rate. This fee covers 55 minutes of therapy, with the remaining time dedicated for planning, preparation, note-taking, and any follow-up correspondence.
  • How much does travel cost for mobile therapy?
Travel expenses are determined based on the time spent traveling to the session location, calculated at a proportional rate of the travel fee which is $97 per hour.
  • What are the payment options for therapy sessions?
NDIS: I warmly welcome clients utilizing both Self-Managed and Plan-Managed NDIS plans. If your child has an NDIS plan, kindly inform me when scheduling the initial appointment. A thorough review of your child's NDIS goals will significantly aid me in tailoring a comprehensive and effective therapy program. Private Health: Occupational Therapy services may be covered under your Private Health company's Extras Cover. To confirm coverage, I recommend reaching out directly to your health fund for more information. Private Clients: For private clients, I issue an invoice to be settled within 5 days of the service. Your prompt payment ensures the smooth continuation of personalized therapeutic support.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
At Nurtured Growth Therapy, I deeply value my clients and understand that unforeseen events can necessitate cancellations. However, to maintain consistency in my services and ensure ongoing support, I have implemented the following cancellation policy: If a session is cancelled with short notice, or there is a no-show, Nurtured Growth Therapy will charge 100% of the agreed support fee. A short-notice cancellation is when you do not show up for a support within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time, or give less than 48 hours (or 2 clear business days) notice to cancel a support. I will issue an invoice to be paid within 5 days of the service. Please note that these appointments are included within your NDIS therapy fee schedule.
